Silmë
Silmë is a sensory and immersive space designed to disconnect from traditional social norms, foster wonder, and offer a space for personal transformation through the senses. The concept arose from a need to break away from basic education and constant cognitive analysis. It resulted in the creation of a safe space for highly sensitive, neurodivergent individuals, those experiencing burnout, or those seeking creative inspiration.
Brief
Preparation and execution of a brief (a tad too long, the next ones will be shorter!). Funnel method (overall context, market, overall objectives, main functionalities, technical constraints, schedule, budget...). The goal is to hold a very comprehensive first meeting to lay solid groundwork for the future, with as few unpleasant surprises as possible. This brief allowed us to discover what Silmë is and how best to support them. And when I say "we," I'm referring to the following people:
Team and client
"We" are Félix and me, Sarah. Félix is a full-stack developer, and I'm a UX/UI developer. To stay organized, since there are only two of us but our work schedules are out of sync, we set up a Trello board. During the briefing, Eladio, a friend, presented his Silmë project to us. Eladio is a learning genius and extremely versatile. He's now leveraging his past experiences to launch this unique project, Silmë. The objective of the project entrusted to us (the digital aspect) is to remove barriers to accessing this space with its original concept.
Quote, scoping document and specifications
Following this briefing, we drafted a project brief, which was rejected by Eladio. Then we drafted a second brief, which was accepted. This was followed by a specifications document and a quote. The quote was based on several elements developed and approved in the project brief.
UX
After receiving the market analysis, Safe conducted a thorough competitive analysis and user surveys. This resulted in a persona, user stories, a user journey map, and a site map.
UI et development
Moving on to the visual and UI aspects, with wireframes drawn on paper and then on Figma.
Next, the prototyped model is created, based on the wireframes and graphic guidelines provided by the client. An immersive version is planned for a second iteration.
Finally, the website has been built on Webflow, and the migration to the client account is complete. Webflow was chosen for its cost-effectiveness, expertise, and modern design.
Test proposal
Finally, after this work, I conducted two types of tests to verify that the objective of our project, "Removing barriers to accessing this space with its original concept," had been achieved. Since Eladio wishes to conduct tests on their end, these tests are available to them.
